Hi Virginia

How delightful to learn of your travels and experiences about the Aland Museum and the Pommern.

My father was a seaman/rigger on the Pommern many years ago.

He disembarked in Melbourne, Australia, and years later married my mother.

I only learned about this when I applied for Finnish citizenship a few years ago and had to gather a lot of information about him required by the Finnish Government.

(His name was Antti Aho but he changed it to Alan Field some years after arriving here before he married my mother.)

My wife (who is Finnish) put me on to your website.
